$175 per person includes rod/reel/tackle hire, bait/berley/salt ice for fish. Tea, coffee & complimentary BBQ Burger lunch included.

$150 per person if you want to bring your own rod/reel/tackle.

What time do the fishing trips depart?

Departs at 7.00 am

Returns at 3.00 pm

Please be ready to board the boat at 6.45 am for pre-departure safety briefing. The boat leaves at 7.00 am sharp. Please be considerate of other passengers by not being late - the boat will not wait for you and no refunds will be given.

Age Limit

No passengers under 13 years of age on Individual/Casual Fisher Days.

 

Rod/Reel/Tackle Hire

Passengers are expected to show due care and respect to the hire equipment. Damage or loss by careless use will be charged to the hirer at actual cost. Use of the rod & reel indicates acceptance of this condition.

Recommended Tackle

For those bringing their own tackle, bring a 10-15kg outfit loaded with monofilament and 50lb or 60lb leader material. It is important that you bring 10oz reef sinkers as we are fishing in deeper water most of the time. Ideal rig is a Ledger Rig or Snapper Flasher - 2 hooks maximum. No one is allowed to fish with more than 1 rod at a time. Please note: BRAID IS NOT PERMITTED on general fishing trips. It is impossible to untangle and cuts through everyone else's lines. It is also dangerous to handle.

Catch

Any snapper over 45cm will be tagged with angler’s name. All other snapper 30cm-44cm caught is put in shared catch bin for even distribution amongst anglers. Other species caught is tagged with angler’s name.

Food & Beverage

Tea, coffee and water is available throughout the day. A complimentary BBQ Burger lunch is provided. If you have special dietary requirements we suggest you bring your own lunch. BYO snacks.

Alcohol

Seasprite II is a licensed premise and is a responsible host. Your safety is of our paramount concern. Intoxicated persons will not be permitted to board the boat. No alcohol is to be consumed on board before 10.30 am.

No BYO alcohol on Individual or Casual Fisher trips. Alcohol must be purchased on board. Please note, there are no eftpos facilities on the boat, payment by cash only.

Illegal Substances

No illegal substances are to be brought aboard Seasprite II.

Chilly Bins

NO CHILLY BINS to be brought aboard. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR CHILLY BINS IN YOUR CAR until we return to assist us in complying with our Workplace Safety requirements. We have large ice bins on board. Fish are kept in a slurry to maximise quality and taste, and we provide you with a sturdy plastic bag to take your catch to your car.

Filleting

Filleting is not permitted on the boat. There are filleting stations at the dock that you can use. There are also filleters working at the dock who will fillet your fish for a fee and there is also a charity Kai Ika operating in the carpark who also offer filleting services at reasonable prices. If you plan on getting your catch filleted, we suggest you bring some large snap-lock bags to put your fillets in.

Safety

We take the safety of the boat, crew and passengers very seriously. Before leaving port you will be given a short safety briefing. We request that all passengers observe the safety guidelines. Seasprite Charters and any employee thereof are not responsible for any personal loss or injury incurred by passengers while on board the boat.

Medical Condition

If you, or any member of your group have a medical condition, please declare this to a member of our crew on boarding. This is so we can best ensure your safety while aboard our vessel.

COVID-19

Seasprite Charters is united in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. We run a safe ship, so as well as having the correct hygiene practices in place, we maintain a Contact Tracing Register. While we have our QR code on display, every passenger will be required to sign our Contact Tracing Register. For further details, please refer to our COVID-19 page.

Parking arrangements

Parking at the marina is "Pay & Display". The Council Parking Enforcement Officer regularly checks the cars parked in the carpark so please ensure that you pay enough parking for while you are out on charter, otherwise you will get a ticket and/or towed.As at November 2020, parking charges are advertised as: 6 hours = $12, 8 hours = $18, 24 hours = $20, 48 hours = $48, 72 hours = $60, 96 hours = $80.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a shortage of car parks at the moment due to renovations. There is another public car park on the left hand side of Westhaven Drive about 100 metres past Sailors Supplies.

What to bring with you

Sun hat, suntan lotion, sunglasses, clothing appropriate for weather conditions and snacks.

Photographs/Video Footage

Any photos or video footage taken while aboard Seasprite II may be used for promotional purposes unless we are expressly notified in writing prior to the charter.

Refunds

If Seasprite Charters has to cancel due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a space on an alternative date. If this is not suitable, we will refund your payment to your NZ bank account. No refunds are given if you miss the boat or don't turn up.
